Wytches Craft

wytchescraft

I am first and foremost a Wytch (This is the old English spelling of Witch).

Prior to the current resurgence of Wicca and Paganism. Witchcraft was a diverse collection of folk practices. These customs, which differed widely by area and culture, were closely linked to the rhythms of rural life and a belief that the natural and spiritual were inextricably linked.

I aim to do the same, by including aspects of our local cultures and surroundings, much like the ancient practice of witchcraft, which was less of an organized religion and more of a patchwork of regional folk beliefs. Rather than employing codified doctrine of ritual, the knowledge was frequently transmitted orally or through observation. Similarly, we avoid using a rigid ritual text in our practice, preferring to rely on our intuition and spontaneity.

Witchcraft and spell craft for me involves the use of charms, spoken spells, and divination. The manifestation of desires by actualizing correspondence through acts of ritual and prayer.

With hemlock kiss and rowan blade,
I dance where saints and sinners fade.
No book, no creed, no sacred name
But ash and thorn and fires flame.
I wear no crown but briar and smoke
And bless the world and all the Folk.
